Good Evening TJ Family,

Last week, Our first full week of school, was a success ending with an awesome TeamLCPS Spirit Day! Our positive behavior referrals are a success and we want to thank everyone that liked Our #PositivePhoneCall video. One point of clarification, we randomly choose 1-2 students from the daily positive referrals to receive the phone call. This ensures there is an additional incentive for students to keep them earning positive referrals. Every student does get a copy of their positive behavior referral, their name announced on the morning announcements, and their token put on their grade level board. The winning grade level gets a special party at the end of each quarter.

Here is what’s going on at TJ this week:
Monday, August 20
Louisa County Lions Club Vision & Hearing Screening for prek, kindergarten, and third grades

Tuesday, August 21
4th grade chorus practice from 7:50 - 8:10 AM in music room
4th grade PALS testing

Wednesday, August 22
MAP testing for 3-5

Thursday, August 23
1st through 3rd grades begin PALS testing
5th grade MAP testing

Friday, August 24
MAP testing for 3-5
We will have Our first lockdown drill of the year. We will go over procedures during class.
TJ's NEHS will be selling doughnuts at the first home Lions football game on August 31st. For those who are not able to attend, you may pre order your doughnuts to be picked up at TJ after school on the 31st. Doughnuts will be $8 per dozen. Please send your check made out to TJ, or the exact amount in cash, to school with your child in an envelope labeled with your child's name and doughnut preorder information. All proceeds will benefit the new upper elementary playground.

Our Innovations/STEAM Lab is in need of the following items to help Patriots continue the wonderful activities: egg cartons, toilet and paper towel tubes, meat trays, modeling clay, spaghetti noodles, and pipe cleaners.

NEHS applications are available for 4th and 5th graders. Completed applications need to be returned in full by September 14th. Please contact Mrs. Seay for additional info.

Parents, please be sure to check your child’s agenda nightly, have them read nightly. The LCPS Student Code of Conduct and the TJ Parent/Student Handbooks have some important expectations that will help make Our educational journey successful!

Thank you for your time this evening and we’ll see you bright and early!

We Believe, One Team, One Dream
