Good Afternoon Patriots,

Welcome to another edition of TJ Family News.  Last week, we saw many of our Patriots take part in county wide events including the STEAM Cup, Black History Month Trivia Contest, and All-County Music Day.  Our Patriots did an excellent job and represented TJ with pride.  Also last week, construction began on many of the amusement park rides that will make up Patriot Park which will be on display at our TJ STEAM Night on April 2nd.  Students can earn Byers' Bucks through displaying positive character traits such as perseverance or kindness which they can then take to Mrs. Lesser's Wonder Parts Store to buy supplies for their creations.  So be sure to ask your Patriot what their team is building.

Looking at the week ahead, we have Read Across America Day tomorrow where we are asking all of our Patriots to "Get Comfy with a Book".  Students may wear pajamas to school and we will be putting an extra emphasis on reading tomorrow and encouraging the passion each student has to read what they love.  In addition as part of the day our students will be completing activities based on the book "The Sneetches" by Dr. Suess.  The day will also include our Patriots getting a chance to see the TJ's Got Talent show to celebrate what makes each of us special.

As a reminder, school will be closed for students on this Tuesday, March 3rd, due to Primary Elections.  Also Tuesday evening our TJ PTA will be hosting a "Tip Night" at the Pizza Hut in Louisa.  The event runs from 5-9 and members of our TJ staff along with parent volunteers will be serving up pizza with all tips and donations going back to our PTA.  So come on out and get something to eat while supporting our school.

Looking ahead  we have Donuts with Grownups for grades 3-5 on March 12, TeamLCPS Kindness Day and Spring pictures on March 13, a Teacher Workday on March 16th, Family Innovation Night on March 19th, Career Day on March 20th, TJ Tuesday on March 24th and TJ STEAM Night on April 2nd.

We end today with a message from our Title 1 team:
Have you ever wanted to create your own music? Then join us on Thursday, March 19th from 5 - 7 pm for “Family Innovation Night”. The annual event will be held at Louisa County High School. Come to the Mobile STEAM Museum and collaborate with others as you make your own hit songs. We can’t wait to see you there as we explore the possibilities.

We hope you are enjoying your Sunday afternoon and we can't wait to see everyone bright and early tomorrow morning.  As always, together, #WeAreTJES.

With Love,
Mrs. Byers, Mr. Cleaver, & Mrs. Snyder
