Good Afternoon Patriots,

Welcome to this week's edition of TJ Family News.  Looking at the week ahead, we will a Buddy Class Day on Friday, February 14th.  We will use this day to kickoff our Spring School-wide STEAM Project that is based on the movie Wonder Park.  On Friday, students will view the movie and then begin to design and build their own amusement park rides.  Due to the change in schedule for the day, we will not be able to have lunch visitors on Friday.  The project will be ongoing until our TJ STEAM Night, which will be on the evening of April 2nd.  On that night our student designed rides will be on display with amusement park themed activities for the whole family.  Also that evening, we will ask you, our families, to vote for your favorite ride with the winning student team receiving Busch Gardens tickets, donated by our TJ PTA.  The project is sure to be fun for all and will work to strengthen each students ability to Collaborate and think Critically and Creatively.

Also this week, we of course will have Valentine's Day on Friday.  We have a few reminders to help the holiday go smoothly for all:
1.) Glass vases and balloons cannot be taken on LCPS school buses so please plan on picking your student up if you are sending these items.
2.) All food items distributed to classes need to be store bought and checked by our nurse before being delivered to students.  As is our normal policy, we ask that you bring the items in 48 hours in advance to allow the nurse time to review ingredients and check student allergies.  This means that items for Valentine's Day need to be dropped in the office no later than the close of business on Wednesday.
3.) Flowers, balloons, and other items delivered to office on Friday will be held in the office until 2:30 and then delivered to students at that point.
4.) PTA Candy Gram orders are due by tomorrow, Monday, February 10th.

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to make this a fun and engaging day for all.

Looking at the rest of the month, school will be closed on Monday, February 17th in observance of the President's Day Holiday, we will have TJ Tuesday on February 18th and our 2nd & 3rd grade musical on February 20th,

We close today with a message from our Title 1 Team:
Have you ever wanted to ride a HoverCraft? Then join us on Thursday, March 19th from 5-7 pm for “Family Innovation Night”. This annual event includes a pizza dinner and will be held at Louisa County High School. Come be amazed by the power of air as you are lifted off the ground! We can’t wait to see you there as we explore the possibilities.

Thank you again for your attention and all that you do to help our Patriots be successful and as always, together, #WeAreTJES.

With Love,

Mrs. Byers, Mr. Cleaver, & Mrs. Snyder
