Hello Patriots!

Looking at the week ahead this is the last week to collect donations to support the American Heart Association and complete Finn's missions. All donations are online and will end on Friday. Also this week our Patriots are putting the finishing touches on their Wonder Park projects throughout the week and especially on our final Wonder Park work day on Friday. As a reminder our Wonder Park event is next Tuesday, February 13th. The exhibits will be open from 5:30 to 7:00 and we will watch the movie "Wonder Park" from 7:00 to 8:30. Attending families will receive a free meal at our TJ Concession Stand. Help us stock our "Concession Stand" with the correct amount of food by completing this one question survey. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

As we near Valentine's Day, this is a reminder to please send non-edible "treats" for students such as pencils, stickers, etc. If you are sending edible treats, they must be store bought with individual ingredients listed on the label. All prepackaged treats will be send home with our Patriots to enjoy there. If you have any concerns with your Patriots bringing home treats, please contact their teacher before the day of their classroom event.

-February 14th is just ten calendar days away and that means that our Patriots are gearing up to pack 10,000 delicious macaroni and cheese meals. As a way to give back to Louisa and care for our community, we are partnering with Meals of Hope to end hunger. Meals of Hope began as a food packing organization, and Meals of Hope is the only food packing organization with a priority on keeping the food packed within the United States. Meals of Hope has developed five meals specifically designed for the American palate with added vitamins, minerals, and proteins to supplement an unbalanced diet. We are very excited to embark on this caring and compassionate journey with our Patriots. Don’t forget to turn your Meals of Hope RSVP in by Friday, February 9th. We can’t wait to see you there!

-We are thrilled to announce that LCPS will be accepting preschool applications for the 2024-2025 school year beginning on Monday, January 22nd. If your child will be four years old by September 30th, 2024 he or she may be eligible to enroll in our program. Our community partner, MACAA, is also accepting applications for their preschool program for children ages three to five years old. Be on the lookout for our information flyer coming home this week!

-We are thrilled to announce that our students will again be embarking on a very special reading journey called One Book, One Louisa. Every elementary student will receive a book that we will read as one community. The culminating activity will be on Wednesday, March 27th, and Thursday, March 28th, when all elementary families are invited to meet at the Goochland Drive-In Theater to watch the movie as a community! What will the book be? What movie will we watch? Stay tuned for a new clue each day this week!

We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow, because as we know, Only Together, #WeAreTJES!
