We are heading into a busy, exciting week at TJES, and I have a few important updates to share with you!

 

• Safe Bus Academy: On Tuesday, August 25th, all students will participate in our annual Safe Bus Academy to practice bus safety rules and expectations.

• Summit Schedule: Wednesday, August 26th is our very first Summit Day of the year! Students will engage in hands-on learning focused on the 5 C’s—citizenship, collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking. New this year, our Patriots will also enjoy a special buddy-class recess, pairing up older and younger students for peer mentorship!

• Required Safety Drill: On Thursday, August 27th, grades 1 through 5 will complete our first required lockdown drill of the year. Per VDOE guidelines, Pre-K and Kindergarten students are exempt from this initial drill.

• Spirit Days: This Friday, August 28th is our first TeamLCPS Green & Gold Day—be sure to wear your green and gold! Looking ahead, Friday, September 4th will be College Spirit Day so get ready to rep your Hokies, Hoos, Dukes or of course my Nittany Lions.

• Labor Day: School will be closed on Monday, September 7th for the Labor Day holiday.
  
  

Please note that we will have no outside food for class distribution and no lunch visitors until after Labor Day, ensuring we have the most up-to-date allergy information for all students.
