Hello Patriots!
Looking at the week ahead, on Monday we will honor and remember the heroes that emerged from the 9/11 tragedy on Patriot Day by wearing Red, White, and Blue, on Tuesday, 9/12, we will have our TJ Movie Night with doors opening at 6:30 and the movie starting at 7:00, Wednesday, 9/13, is an Asynchronous Learning Day so students do not report to school, and then on Friday we will host a "Go Gold" day to help raise awareness and funds to support research for childhood cancer. We encourage our Patriots to wear "gold" (yellow) on Friday and we will be taking donates for CureSearch. The following week we will have Buddy Class meetings on Wednesday and MVP on Friday, September 22nd.
- Our first LCPS Asynchronous Service Project of 2023 is almost here! Constitution Day, which is on September 17th, is a special day that commemorates the signing of the United States Constitution in 1787. Our students have been actively learning about the Constitution, our government, and what it means to be a proud American. To celebrate this important day, we have a wonderful activity planned. We're asking our students to write letters of appreciation to our local government leaders. These letters will be a way for our students to express their gratitude and learn more about civic engagement.
On Wednesday, September 13th, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, we are very fortunate to have our local government leaders visit and engage with our Patriots and accept their letters of appreciation. It's a unique opportunity for our children to connect with those who serve our community. A parent letter is coming home this week with your student with more details. We hope you and your Patriot will join us for our first service project of the year!
- Lastly, if you haven't done so already, please complete your Patriot's online "Back to School Paperwork". This will include their technology contract, clinic card, approved pick-up list, and many more vital items for their successful school year. To complete the "paperwork", see the email you received from PowerSchool Registration last week and follow the directions. If you need assistance or did not receive an email, you may contact our help desk by calling 540-894-4373 or by emailing [email protected]. You can also come to our TJ Main Office from 8:15 to 2:30 or 3:30 to 4:30 for assistance from our office staff. We will be reaching out this week to those families that have not completed this as these records are vital for our school operations and your Patriot's safety.
We hope everyone had a great weekend and we can't see you tomorrow, because as we know, Only Together, #WeAreTJES!
