Greetings TJ Families!

I'm excited to start my 9th year at Thomas Jefferson and my fourth as Principal.  Before coming to TJ, I  taught Mathematics for 12 years at Louisa County High School where I also served as an assistant football coach and in various leadership roles.  I received my B.S. in Mathematics Education from Juniata College and my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from George Mason University.  

I'm originally from a small rural town in Pennsylvania but have been a resident of Louisa County for the past 21 years and am proud to call it home.  My wife, Jessica, is a teacher in the county and my 3 kids, Cole, Ava, and Ty are LCPS students with Cole in 10th grade, Ava in 8th grade, and Ty in 5th grade.  When I'm not at school you may find me on a local sports field or court watching my kids play or coaching.

Hello TJ Families!

I am honored and excited to continue serving as one of your assistant principals at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School! This year marks my fourth year as an administrator, and my 12th year as a member of the TJES family. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with Teacher Preparation and my Master of Science in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University. I also hold an endorsement in Administration and Supervision from Longwood University.

As a proud Louisa County native and Louisa County Public Schools graduate, I am deeply grateful for the support, relationships, and sense of community that make TJES such a special place. I am passionate about serving our students, families, and staff, and I look forward to another year of partnering together to help every Patriot grow and succeed.

At TJES, we are committed to creating a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I remain dedicated to supporting our students and staff as they strive for excellence while fostering the skills, confidence, and character needed for future success. By working collaboratively with our administration, teachers, families, and community partners, we will continue to uphold the mission and vision of both TJES and LCPS.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, writing, traveling, playing video games, and spending time with family and friends.

Dear TJ Families,

I am absolutely thrilled to continue serving the Thomas Jefferson Elementary School community as one of your Assistant Principals! This school holds a deeply special place in my heart—my own journey as a "Patriot" began right here in these hallways as a student back in 1993. Because of that lifelong connection, my ultimate goal is to ensure every single one of our students falls in love with learning and grows into the absolute best version of themselves.

Before stepping into administration, I spent over a decade in the classroom teaching Special Education Mathematics, functional academics, and general education mathematics across Henrico and Louisa Counties. After serving as the Administrative Intern at Louisa County Middle School and right here at TJES, I transitioned into the Assistant Principal role, where I get to put my passion for student success into action every day.

I am a proud Louisa County High School alumna (Class of 2006) and a Longwood University graduate (Class of 2010). My husband, Brent, and I feel incredibly blessed to raise our family right here in my hometown of Louisa. Our two daughters keep our hearts full and our schedules busy! Outside of school, you can usually find me biking, reading, enjoying live theater and music, staying active in our church, or cheering loudly for our girls at their various activities.

It is a true honor to work alongside Principal Jesse Cleaver and Assistant Principal Brittany Anderson. I consider it a privilege to support our students, staff, and families through servant leadership. Here’s to another wonderful year of helping our Patriots grow, thrive, and shine!
