Dr. William Caten - Principal

Dr. William CatenHello Thomas Jefferson Patriots. I am excited to join the TJES Family and look forward to partnering with each of you to continue towards Excellence for Our school! Since I have been appointed as your next principal, I have heard all about the wonderful programs and traditions here at TJES. It is exciting to join a school family that is so supportive and excited about developing the "Keys to Success" for Our students. We will continue to focus on all content areas but we will further develop a love of learning through enrichment activities such as STEAM (science technology engineering arts & math), and fostering a safe and nurturing environment where all students feel successful. One of my driving principals is to continue to grow the school faculty by using data to make informed instructional decisions that will result in Our student's success!

A little about me, I have been both a regular ed. and special ed. teacher, worked as a Title 1 math teacher, and have been an administrator in multiple schools over the course of 20 years. Most recently I served as principal of Jouett Elementary here in Louisa County. I am supported by a loving wife and a blended family of 5 children and 1 grandchild. I recently earned my educational doctorate degree and focused on the importance of early interventions to ensure the success of all students. As you can see, education is important to my family and I look forward to sharing my passion and ideas with you.

I, and the staff here at TJES, look forward to partnering with each of you as we begin the 2016-2017 school year. Feel free to stop by, call, or email if you have any questions or concerns as once school begins you will find me where my passion is, in classrooms with Our students.
