Greetings TJ Families!
I'm excited to start my 7th year at Thomas Jefferson and my second as Principal. Before coming to TJ, I taught Mathematics for 12 years at Louisa County High School where I also served as an assistant football coach and in various leadership roles. I received my B.S. in Mathematics Education from Juniata College and my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from George Mason University.
I'm originally from a small rural town in Pennsylvania but have been a resident of Louisa County for the past 18 years and am proud to call it home. My wife, Jessica, is a teacher in the county and my 3 kids, Cole, Ava, and Ty are LCPS students with Cole in 7th grade, Ava in 5th grade, and Ty in 2nd grade. When I'm not at school you may find me on a local baseball or softball field watching my kids play or coaching.
I look forward to partnering with you to provide our Patriots with a world-class education. Please don't hesitate to contact me via phone or email ([email protected]) if I can be of assistance.
Only Together, We Are TJES!
Jesse Cleaver, M.Ed.

Hello TJ Families!
I am overjoyed to have the honor of serving as your assistant principal again this year! This will be my third year as an administrator, and my 11th year at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with Teacher Preparation and my Master of Science in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University. I also received an endorsement from Longwood University in Administration and Supervision.
As a Louisa County native and LCPS graduate, I truly value the familial atmosphere and continued support I have received at TJ as an educator, and I look forward to working with all of you to continue guiding our Patriots along their unique paths to success. I will continue building upon the success of our school by supporting our students and staff in reaching their maximum potential and maintaining a positive, engaging, and safe school environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional needs of all. I will also work diligently with our administration, staff, students, families, and community to carry out the mission and vision of TJ and LCPS. I am committed to serving our school as we continue providing students with high-quality experiences that cater to the academic, social, and 5Cs skills they will need to be successful. Outside of serving our Patriots, I enjoy reading, writing, playing video games, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.
I look forward to working with you as we continue “guiding our students along their unique paths to success!” Please feel free to contact me by phone or email, and I would be happy to assist with any of your needs. Only Together, We are TJES!

Dear Patriot Families,
I am thrilled to continue serving the Thomas Jefferson Elementary School community for a third year—this time in a new role as Assistant Principal! Having first become a “Patriot” myself as a student here in 1993, this school holds a very special place in my heart. It has been my ongoing goal to help each of our students love learning as they grow into the best version of themselves.
Before stepping into administration, I spent over a decade in the classroom, teaching Special Education Mathematics, functional academics, and general education mathematics in both Henrico County and Louisa County. From 2021 to 2023, I served as the Administrative Intern at Louisa County Middle School, and for the past two years, I’ve been blessed to serve in that same role here at TJES.
I am a proud Longwood University graduate (Class of 2010) and a Louisa County High School alumna (Class of 2006). My husband, Brent, and I are grateful to raise our family in my hometown of Louisa, VA. Our two daughters keep us busy and joyful. Outside of school, I enjoy biking, reading, live theater and music, being active in our church, and cheering on our girls in their many activities.
It is truly an honor to work alongside Principal Jesse Cleaver and Assistant Principal Brittany Anderson in serving our amazing school. I consider it a privilege to support our students, staff, and community through servant leadership, and I look forward to another wonderful year helping our Patriots grow and thrive.
